    I made this image in Provo Bay, UT last summer.

    Nikon D500, 500 f/4 + 1.4 TCIII
    ISO 1250, f/5.6, 1/160 sec
    Matrix Metering, Manual Mode
    Flash on

    I like the low angle and the small prey item, to my eye the sharpest focus is on the wing, would sharpen the head a bit more and also reduce the contrast, the white stuff on the water could use some cleaning....

    Agree with Arash. I like the head turn and the BG is wonderful. Also, not sure about Western Robins but back East, the bird is much darker. I'd suggest less contrast and decrease exposure... POV really makes this shot for me, wish the water wasn't so messy...

    Ditto all above. Is the white stuff on the water the prey items? Is the prey some sort of larvae? There is a bit too much head turn for me.

    Yes I think the stuff in the water is some sort of larvae.
