Todd- I think the comp and head angle are very good here. Maybe a tad less room at the bottom would benefit. I think the image may benefit from upping the saturation a little, and trying to damp the contrast in the water.
I am fine with the water and the COMP but the color looks off as the bird appears more brown than grey...
