Here's an old one from my Galapagos trip in 2010, dredged up for the theme. The Swallow-tailed Gull adult is a handsome bird, with a distinctive red eye ring. It is the only truly nocturnal gull, feeding only at night in the open ocean off the Galapagos Islands. I almost stepped on this chick hiding in the vegetation on the flat land above the cliffs of South Plaza Island.

Don''t think i have ever seen a gull chick. The details look good and i like the vegetation around the chick.

How cute! I like the vulnerability this image seems to imply. A bit more room all around would have been good, but I imagine the setting was even busier outside what we see here.

Too cute and too tight. Pulling the curve up a bit would likely help.
