Hi Marc ...a good regal pose of the Wildebeest , like it .
Super isolated subject due to the choice of backdrop ...well done . I do like the conversion as such , but would go lighter in the mid tones as a personal choice . I meant in the Wildebeest not in the surroundings .
    Nice one Marc.

Hi Marc - This works quite well as a toned image. A personal thing for me is that I find portrait comps with more than half, but not the whole, body in frame to be a little awkward so might take some off the lhs. Btw it's Sabi Sand for the Sabi River and the Sand River (no s on the end)

    TFS,
    Rachel

    TFS,
    Rachel
It's always been Sabie Sands in my book Rachel, and even the locals refer it as "The Sands" (in reference to the Game Reserve itself, not solely the river) and in fact my wife and I got married here back in 2004. And my 5th time here.

Very nice indeed, really liking those eyes though not too keen on the crop to the rump, maybe somewhere near his belly button might look better also , possibly lift the darker tones a fraction?

    Thanks John,
I hear you regarding the crop and did play with this but cropping further along the belly line (still wanting to include all the legs) would leave a very narrow portrait crop, so this was a bit of a compromise. Another alternate would then be to crop to the chest and finish near the mane.

Very nice conversion Marc and I love the pose from the Wildebeest. I understand your thinking and dilemma regarding crop so won't go into this issue.

Love the smooth BG here, subject stands out beautifully. Good detail and sharpness. I agree with comments above about going a tad lighter in the midtones.

Thank you so much for sharing, hope you have a nice week-end!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
