Nice one. Like the two toned background and the pose. Light looks nice as well.
Love the sweet light, HA, SH, details( with perfect sharpening applied) and perch. Wish for more room on top and the BG color change (if any) gradient off the subject. Could be a slight hot spot on chest. TFS
Details look great here Geoff. Nice pose and super background. I agree with David re I would crop it differently. Typically I like 2 parts (space) on top for every one on the bottom. I also agree that the middle of the chest is a bit hot. Perch is nice but always good to push ourselves and try and get the same pose on an even better perch like a large grass stalk or something with changing leaves. I know that getting the shot is often times very hard, but the perch and background are what makes shots like these go from nice to spectacular.
A lovely shot I think a minor adjustment of curves at raw stage will make this really good, I would lower the brightest and lift the very darkest plumage.
Nice sharp look at this Butterbutt, giving you a nice head turn. Good critiques above.
Hi Geoff, lovely butterball! wondnerful details and I like the colors in the BG, agree with some very minor tweeks but a solid image, I like how the feathers repeat themselves...
Love these guys. Agree re: more room above and the hot patch on the chest. I like the two toned BG and the simple perch. Nice catchlight as well. TFS
Thanks everyone, and appreciate your suggestions. Here is a repost, though personally I prefer the original minus the hot spot on chest.
