Great shot, I like it very much. Love the action and dust in the air.
I wonder if the darker tones are just a little too heavy, I think I would be tempted to adjust the colour balance a little.

Great action shot. I like that you kept the action small in the frame, as the dust adds so much to the scene.

A wonderful scene and great action Morkel. The pose, the dust and the chase are just awesome. Loved it.

A cracker of a story telling image Morkel, the dust and lowered horns are well depicted
Jackals can at times have a rather nasty side to them, excellent blog as well.

Neat to see the tables turned. Like all the dirt kicking up. Is this full frame or cropped?

Hi Morkel - This works quite well with lots of action. The kicked up dust definitely adds but I do find my eye drawn to the brighter sand a few feet in front of the action. Jackals seem to always find a bit of trouble.

Hi Morkel , lovely action and the poses of both are great , the kicked up dust adds to the dynamic look of the frame .
I am with Jon on the heavy dark tones ....but maybe just a personal pref at times .

Hi Morkel, I wondered when you might post this.
The pano crop works well with the encounter and the trail of dust amplifies the speed and chase well. You had truck loads of ISO to play with, why not go to 1/2500 or 1/3200 to really freeze the capture?

I honestly don't know .
I am happy with how everything was frozen, though.

John, close to FF on either side, but cropped from top and bottom.
