Here is another experimental shot. A high key image of Sambar Deer amidst a tense situation as to who will win the battle for the females. The two males were on the look out for the female which was standing in front of them and the other female was also feeling nervous as to what will be her fate.
Hi Haseeb - What's with the techs? This is another tough one with the shooting angle less than ideal. Also I find my eye drawn to the middle buck but he is turned away. For me it is also too contrasty. Spend a little time reading the traditional definition of a high key image which includes low contrast because the key light floods the subject with light so there are very few shadows, if any, and few dark areas. Keep experimenting.
Thank you Rachel for your comment and suggestions. I was initially in two minds as to try and work on the slow blurs as the Deer’s moved in the river , but they being static like this for a while , I quickly tried to freeze the action, hence , the techs.
Will try and find more abt the high key concept and which are idea scenarios in which to attempt such shots. I too wished the Sambar in the middle should have been atleast looking forward if not towards the camera .
Have to agree with Rachel here.
I like the idea you started from - but the poses of the sambar and the specific contrast/tone you went for is not working for me.
Keep on trying and experimenting!
