I spent a few hours yesterday at a local loch...The kids were feeding the ducks, and I was photographing the BHG's as they came for food...This is a Juve going into winter plumage.

Love these charismatic gulls. Details look very nice and i really like the top side view. Being super picky I wish the head was turned just a couple degrees more towards us. Also there seems to be too much blue in the gray of the mantle and wings.

Sharp with a nice dorsal view. No quibbles from me.

ps: how much of a crop? I ask because that looks like a lot of d-o-f for f/8 ...

A second thought; going into first winter plumage (or first basic plumage).

Nice sharp flight capture. Exposure and details look fine, with a great BG.

Hi Will, great banking pose, and the angle shows off the top side so well. Exposure looks good, nice and sharp, and well separated from the BG.

Hi Artie, thanks for that. With regards to the crop size, I have attached the original RAW.

Lovely dorsal flight capture, William. Great BG as well. Might give a tad more room to wing tips, similar to original RAW.

Terrific capture Will, feathers are so well defined here, BG and the patterned water are very nice. Thumbs up!
