I was sitting with my back against a rocky jetty when this fella landed close to me. I could not back up, but it was at the perfect distance for nice verticals anyhow, so I was able to take a few images before some other gulls came in chasing after what is surly a delicious catfish meal. Another gull did eventually steal the fish, dunked it in water and then swallowed it whole (now all too far for good images).
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/8, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, darkened the pupil, lightened the inside of the mouth.
Italian flavored? Great to leave "one inch behind the leg" for a vertical front-end portrait. I read that somewhere :)
