semipalmated plover in flight

Here is another semipalmated plover frame from Foster City back in Winter. This series was one of the first frames I got with my Nikon D850 and 600 FL. for many years before I had shot at this location and while I had many frames from a variety of species, I had never been quite successful in capturing tack sharp flight images of the semipalmated. The Nikon AF system did the magic right away delivering not just one or two but literally tens of flight images from this specie, every single time. It felt almost stupid....

PS. I know about the double catch light but I like it that way, in the RAW file I can almost see the sun below the clouds and its reflection in the pupil

Hi Joe, this was about 40% of the original frame or 18 mega pixels after cropping.
