Whoaaaaa and wonderful, this is so intense! I would be tempted to clean up the soiled wings but maybe the bird should take care of that or not! Love the eye, love the dive and the HA, well done! super

Super pose and eye contact here. Great image quality. I would tone down the blue of the sky just a bit as I find it a bit overpowering. Also wish you didn't have such a dark shadow on the bottom of the bird. Minor items for a super shot.

Neat pose on the bird like the view of that eye. Light looks like it was directly overhead.

Well done Mike!! Nice colors and details in this one and I like the flared tail feathers. Yes to toning down the blue sky a bit but otherwise a fine capture. Well done

Love that turned head and yellow eye. Sharpness looks pretty good. I agree about turning the blue down a bit.

I like the head turn, wing/tail positions, IQ and tight composition. Another vote for toning down the sky. Excellent image Mike!

Cheers Isaac - The shadow bugs me a little as well, but the day was really harsh sunlight. I'll be having a return trip when the forecast is more favourable. A few have mentioned the blue sky so looks like an adjustment is needed.

Cheers Artie - yep that was the day, managed to overlook this one and only saw it as I was deleting files. Booked some time off work next year if you want to meet up

The dark shadow on the breast did not and does not bother me one iota. I did not even notice it until is was mentioned. If you want to bring it up a bit, you might try some NIK CEP Detail Extractor ...

ps: I'd like to know how you are supposed to get a top shot of a diving bird with the sun out without a shadow on the breast; it looks 100% pleasing and natural to me.
