A lovely sharp image with F9 helping to get a lot of that face sharp. The lighter piece of background in the top right corner takes a little away from a otherwise killer bg

Beautiful John, I love the deer's eye. If you take more similar shots I would consider f11, you may then get one ear completely in focus.

This is a beautiful portrait, sweet pose from the deer and I like that tiny protruding tongue. To me DoF not really an issue and I am quite happy to see the face - especially nose and eyes - sharp and in focus.

Good detail where needed and the framing is great. Only two tiny nits from me - correct me if I am wrong, viewing on a small laptop tonight that is not calibrated, huge storm here so the big apple is unplugged - I think I see a tiny magenta cast on the ears and the whites on the neck seem a bit hot?

John I am really enjoying your work, keep sharing please

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi John - Looks like you had some nice light for this one. Lovely details and sharpness. Good suggestions by all above.
