Default Arctic Tern over Lake Myvatn

This is not for those who like their backgrounds pristine and uncluttered. I caught this Tern soaring over a shallow cove in Lake Myvatn in 2016, and I thought the background made for an interesting effect.

I concur with your comments regarding the interesting effects of the background. I wonder if the blacks could be opened more so the eye is more visible. Lovely bird that I am not familiar with so cannot comment on colors etc. EX, SH and detail look good. Thank you for sharing, Bill.

I don't mind the background nice to see something different. The bird pops nicely. More light on the face would have been nice.

This is a really neat flight pose and I love the BKGR. That said, light angle problems are difficult to overcome. But here, you created a very special image despite the difficulties.

Thank you all. Agree that the light angle and time of day were less than ideal.

Hey Bill, thats the best green water Ive seen, kinda like the "swirls" and colors. I only wish we could have seen the eye, however, you have lovely details throughout the wings! good job

Thanks Ann. I thought of your love of green water when I posted this.
