Hello Marc,
Whew, quite a leap from this handsome sable, well captured!
Love the composition and rich colours. Agree with you on SS, but really not bad for nine years ago... around that time I was still shooting everything with ISO 400 at F5.6
Hope you have a wonderful time in Botswana, travel safely and bring back lots of awesome images!
Kind regards,

Neat frame. Like the grasses and the birds of course. That is a big leap. The composition works for me.

Hi Marc - I like the way the oxpeckers are flying in the opposite direction. Nice timing on the jump. Yes, you needed a bit more ss and I also wish it was angled slightly forward rather than away. I hope you have lots of great sightings in good light on your trip.
TFS,
Rachel

Hi Marc -- Lovely colour palette and excellent timing to capture the jump. The ox peckers are adding to the scene .
I too feel that a bit more ss would have helped here and totally agree that nothing comes easy and perfect in wildlife , the quest must go on .
Nicely done. TFS !
All the very best for Botswana , will wait for the images.

A sable leaping over a body of water is an image I would LOVE to have. Great timing

Terrific image Marc, and those oxpeckers too! One to be proud of, like everyone else I wish I had an image like that! I think I would try a little lifting of the shadows around the eye and neck, this could easily be overdone but I think a slight lift especially around the eye would help.
