    Default Short-billed Dowitcher

    First one with the 600 II!

    Canon 600mm IS II on EOS 5D Mark IV
    1/5000 at f/5.6, ISO 400 (meant to be at 1/4000, but bumped dial!)
    Processed in Lightroom with standard sliders

    Hi Dorian, Well that is sure pretty, wonderful work and you nailed the flight pose, excellent HA, sure the far wing could be extended fully but this is tops!

    I like the smooth BG, flight angle and composition. I agree with the far wing position but I would still call this a keeper. Nice image Dorian.

    Sweet pose, BG, details, and I love the trailing feet. I don't mind the far wing, although in a perfect world it could be further up. Not much to critique on this one from my POV. TFS

    Looks great Dorian. That "new" 600 treating you well I see. I must get out there one of these days to shoot shorebirds. Love everything about this one. This is a really hard shot to get, especially with the 5d4. Congrats!

    Handheld - only time I bother with a tripod is in the tropics. These speedsters would be tough with a tripod!

    Killer dorsal view of this dowitcher. Nice detail. Love that blue water background.
