    Default Great crested grebe family

    Hi all,

I've been really busy lately so not much time to check the forums or get out in field sadly, so this image is from back in January. Maybe 25% crop. Taken on a cloudy day. The only way to get a low POV was to lay at a pretty steep angle -- not so fun for the elbows the next day! In post, NR, leveled the shot based on Dad, sharpened.

    Camera: Nikon D500
    Lens: 200-500 f/5.6
    Specs: 1/1250 ISO 2000 f/6.3

Thanks for looking and commenting on prior posts!

This is sweet and my only suggestion is to make this a pano crop.
Love the chick on the back and the sweet interaction,

Great interaction here. Love the chick poking out. I don't mind the crop as is.

Yes, a pano would look great here, and the very least about half the empty space below cropped away. Excellent interaction, and the little guy is over the top cute! I'd love it even more if the red irises were more prominent. Good work!

I like the relative positing of the birds, my first reaction was a more pano crop. Next I would lift the dark plumage just a little and the eyes again just a little, I appreciate they would not be very prominent but just a little lift makes a significant difference.
    (Try it WDYT?)

Thanks all, the pano crop does help as does bringing up the plumage / eye just a tad. Best,
