Beautiful setting here. Love how the image tells the whole story. Wish that tree or branch wasn't directly behind the elephant.

Morkel, I too love this image. Great composition. I think it is more challenging than it seems to visualize this kind of image while in the field and you did well. I hope you have an image where that branch between trunk and legs is not there or in a less distracting place.

Very nicely composed. I like it very much though I have a slight reservation over the polariser, it appears to have a disproportionate effect, i.e. much stronger on RHS vs LHS.

    Hello Morkel,

A lot to look at here - beautiful landscape, light and colours. A well composed image and I like the placement of the subject within the frame.

I too find the little branch between trunk and front limbs a bit distracting. Not sure about the polariser, I quite like the dark blue sky but it does look a bit unnatural when compared to the LHS?

    Kind regards,

    Kind regards,

Iconic indeed and I think I know this very spot

Superb late afternoon light, framing and ele placement here Morkel, but the CP and wide angle lens do not make for good friends at times, with the varying saturation in the sky, might try to reduce the intensity in the blue URHC if you're inclined?

Good to see you posting again.

    TFS

Hey Morkel - I have always loved viewing your work - this is no exception however I agree about the right vs left colours of the sky

Hi Morkel -- Trademark Morkel image. I loved the settings and the colours . Nice placement of the elephant in the frame . I too find that twig distracting. All in all a fantastic frame.

    TFS !

Hi Morkel - It's nice to have you back posting and commenting. Upon opening i immediately wondered what happened with the sky so i agree with the comments about the CP and colors. Otherwise, a classic animalscape and beautiful scene.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Thanks folks. I hear you on the branch, I might have other frames but would have to go dig into those archives again. This was the first one that "jumped" out at me for editing from that sequence.

Rachel - good to be back, will pick up steam as my academic year winds down (thesis, ugh).

On the CP sky colours, I am fine with it, but do accept that it's a thing that you either like or don't
