    This image was created in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on 8/8/18 at 9:43AM. Image adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop.

    Hand held, Small crop.

    Hi John - This has the same issues with the blacks as the last 2 images. I have to ask, are you taking on board any of the comments/suggestions when pp the next image? The heavy shadow on the face here compared to the other 2 images that you posted, means that I probably would not have pp this one.

    Dear John,

    I like that the big log is no longer in the picture but at the same time agree with Rachel, same issue in all three images.

    Hope you do not mind, I took the liberty to borrow your bear and try lift some of those heavy shadows. As you can see not a very successful try because whatever changes you applied ( curves, contrast, saturation, etc) are difficult to undo at this stage. Much easier for you when importing the image in LR.
