I happen to be lucky enough to live in the one small area of the uk where this insect lives. It is only on the wing for about 3 weeks and is also very choosy about the weather conditions in which it will show itself.

Very good face to face image. Nice composition. I love the out of focus green background merging into the blue sky. The white flowers are overblown. You could use level tool to bring down the brightness on them. There are other ways to do it, but this is the way I know. The eyes and the fuzz around the head may need a little sharpening.

Like the head on composition here and the flower. The flower is pretty cooked though no detail in those whites. Looks over sharpened.

Nicely framed but the exposure is out. The flowers are blown, how big is the crop? The sharpening looks a little awry as do the colours.

Technically this is not good, but what a great view of the face and the undersides of the wings. It looks a bit posterized and the colors seem funky at best but I can't stop looking at it! What species?
