Beautiful bird on a nice perch with an amazing background.
I like the bit of fluff in the beak - must have been preening ?
Do snowy egrets always have the shiny black legs?

The legs are a bit blacker during the breeding season and when they are clean :) Up to one year old, the back of the legs are usually yellow green but black or dark grey in the front.

Love the image even the bit of fluff on the bill tip. I am curious as to why the brightest whites seem to be the primaries of the far wing ...

Hi Artie, thanks for viewing and commenting. Remembering the conditions when I captured this image, the bird was on the perch about two feet above the water. So my guess would be that the water was reflecting light onto the bird in that area.

A great image with a good composition and fine exposure of the white bird.
Also, you did well to ensure a high depth of field to get all the feathers on the head very sharp.
    Those legs are special ... ; - )
    Kind regards

A very elegant image. Love the upright pose, and the purity of the white on blue. Good one, Joe.

This is really nice. Great detail in the whites and a beautiful look at those trademark yellow feet. That blue BG is perfect.
