Nice frame John. Seems likeBC is smelling the berries. Like nice contrast against the blue skys and fur detail.

Hi John -- Great to see a different specie from you. I liked the moment and nice timing on capturing the plucking moment. I feel you should have gone tighter @ 600mm to get the front half of the body as the lower half is obstructed by the leaves and would have provided better details. Nice techs and colours look fine to me. Blacks appear a little heavy for my taste, pulling it back will bring the finer details as well.

    A nice image. TFS !

WOW, it's not a Deer, excellent!!!

Great pose and the angled branch strengthens the composition. Yes there is some fringing, probably pushed the blue sky too much. I could be wrong, but the face looks lifted (lighted) has it? You can also get some more colour & depth in the leaves which would help the image.

John you certainly know where to find wildlife! I really like this image.
I would check out the bear fur and see if a little more detail could be gotten from the darkest parts also check to see if there is an unwanted blue cast in there.
The image looks just a little cold/blue to me, - hope you have some more!!

    Thanks Steve,

Don't worry i have lots more deer images. Nothing has been done to the face of the cub.

Hi John another lovely frame ...very well done and you got lucky with the cub .
Works the same way as the the other post of the cub , same critique in terms of color and tones, from my side .
Nevertheless a very cool frame .

A very cute moment well captured here John, love the balancing act and won't be long before those outer berries won't be accessible with all the weight these little guys quickly gain!

I prefer this one to your recent post, some good advice from others above.

Hi John- I'm late to this one. Great to see a black bear cub. Was this in Cades Cove? I like the comp as it shows the cub doing what they do, climbing trees and eating berries. The leaves don't bother me. I would go for some more depth in the tones of the face. Nice one.

    Rachel
