Beautiful feather detail on this fine portrait, Bill. Like the control of the shadows and highlights, not to mention the subtle green iridescence.

I like everything about this but the face looks too dark. Help me out here as I think that my calibrated monitor is a bit dark. Does the face look better in the repost here or in the original in Pane 1?

    thanks with love, artie

Nice view of this drake. The comp might be better with the birds head more to the right.

    Thanks guys.

Artie, I think the head does look a bit better in your repost, at least around the eye. As to the size, my damaged wing has made it difficult to do any computer work other then simple text, so I've just been digging into my files to pull up old shots not previously posted. It's getting better now, so I'll start reworking some of the old ones when it seems necessary.

John, I liked the plumage on the right, including the little white bar. Otherwise I would have agreed to move the bird a bit to the right; it probably would have composed better.

Good close-up look at this guy. He's a bit far left in the frame for me. I'd like to see more room ahead of him.
Color doesn't pop, so I assume the light was filtered. I can see the sun in his eye so you had some amount of
    warm light.
