Was lucky to catch this eagle the other day at my favourite locale 5 minutes from home. It's times like this that I really wish I had a 600mm lens! Not wuite critical focus on the eye, but it was very windy that afternoon (August westerlies here in Brisbane)
7D Mk2, 100-400 at 400mm, 1/4000th sec at f5.6, ISO640. Cropped and edited in PS, with a Colour efx pro 50/50 recipe at 25%. Cheers.

Well done and a new bird for me. If only the bird's far wng had been fully extended (as the near wing is). That would put the shadow of the bird's head fully against the under-secondary coverts ...

    Hi Artie,
Thank you for thefeedback and suggestion, which I will keep in mind. I went out yesterday to the same location but didn't see the Eagles, just a Brahminy Kite in the distance! Here's another Sea eagle taken on the same day as the previous post...wings outstretched. Cheers!

Hi Paul, YAW. Better but what you are looking for is the T-shot -- wings flat with the bird directly above you and both wings roughly parallel to the ground.

Hi Artie...I'll definitely try for that shot, but will this "side T" shot do meanwhile?
    Cheers,
    Paul
