Taken the day before my previous egret in-flight post a from a few days ago. Two consecutive days, pretty much identical wing positions, but two very different results and moods to the images.
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evalautive metering, 1/800s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp.
I like this one better. I especially love the disappearing horizon line ...

Love the mood of this shot. Actually prefer it to the last, particularly since I am not very good at shooting in muted light like this. Exposure is perfect. Comp is great.
Very pretty. Now that’s how you take a super common bird and make it interesting and beautiful. Great wing position and the dreamy mood of the shot is perfect. This is my favorite Egret shot I’ve seen in a long time.
