Hi John, cool shot for ISO6400, nice one.

The first thing that hits me is that the colour appear off and this gets back to getting your colour balance right when you import the image into LR. Without do this first step everything goes out the window, in addition do you calibrate your Monitor or is this a laptop you work on? If you get that right you can then as I have said before then go further into more of the colour aspect. BTW did you use Vibrance?

You have good detail & clarity but it's all (to a degree) masked by the colour. The black backdrop has given some separation and standout to the rack & head, but again, clipped in the Shadows (Blacks), evident you are pushing in that direction and not checking your Histogram, albeit that the Histogram in any raw converter is not the same as your camera when imported. The bugs are a nice touch of Summer, but I feel you can afford to crop from the top. I might also either loosing or toning down the brighter grass heads.

Note, it appears sharper, but NO additional sharpening applied.

    RP for illustration only.

Hi John - So it looks like you are finding white-tails wherever you go. The deer again look a bit bright and thin. I agree with Steve that the colors and wb seem off, with a red cast to the deer. TI think of them as more reddish brown than red. I also took the op and adjusted the WB, applied a midtones curves adjustment to the bucks only, dropped the reds even a little more on the bucks and then darkened the greens of the grasses. Less than 5 minutes. Any chance you shot any wider images of the interaction? I find the comp to be a bit awkward and would have either shot wider or maybe zoomed in a little more to capture just the heads.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi John, a fun image to watch although the composition is a bit awkward as mentioned already. Steve and Rachel has done a great job with the RP. Glad to see you using the high ISO with 5D IV. Keep em coming.
