I was photographing another Great Egret (out of the frame at left) when this one flew by. Boy, it's not easy trying to pan a flying bird while lying prone in the mud with elbows planted firmly on the ground! I did manage a few good frames, with this one being the best due to the better wing position, and taller trees now cleared behind the subject.
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f8, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp after a CW rotation. Lifted the blacks a tad on the legs and feet.
You did very well Daniel, nicely framed, and I like the placement of the egret at the top of the greens. I like the dark blue water and little chop. TFS
Too skilled for me. I love that the bird's near-wing is so close to the water. Techs are spot on. The only things that bugs me (and probably you too, at least a bit), is that the bill is so near the horizon line.
with love, artie
