A couple of weeks ago I posted the mother still fixing the nest, before any of the babies hatched. Here is a family portrait taken the day before the two nestlings fledged. To note, the male is absent of all nesting activities, once his part is done in fertilizing the eggs it scrams. You can see the left egde of the nest benind from the weight of the now fully-grown nestlings. The leaves are already starting to turn red!

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4Tc III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 3200, natural light, handheld, about 70% FF, fixed the reflections on the eyes, NR to the BG and open wing.

As expected, you did an absolutely perfect job of choosing the best (and only!) perspective (and with everything else as well.) The red leaf rocks. The only thing that bugs me is the dark (dead?) leaf in the ULC ...

Mom's raised wing and junior's open bill made this one the pick of the litter ...

Looks like fall is on its way. Nice view of the nest and the birds. Great background.
