    Another from my hometown. I was hiding in the rocks about 100 yards away from a colony of around 80 of these terns. One or two would fly past me regularly.

    Nice and sharp with a decent wing position. I had no clue that this species bred in the UK until I saw them on Inner Farnes ...

    The clouds along the bottom add a lot to the image. Nicely done.

    Hi Artie, yes we get a colony every summer here. What I did find unusual was Common Terns, there is quite a good colony here, first time I have seen that. Maybe nesting on one of the islands in the Forth. I am about 7 miles as the tern flies from the Isle of May, but even there they are down in numbers, almost all Arctic now, as you know.
