    Another from the trip with Isaac - I'll leave the songbirds to him to post, owls are my thing. The Spotted Owl was the main reason he came out to AZ, and we got absolutely point blank views in the open. Success.

    Super details, and I love the big black eyes. This one has the "flashed" look to it though. Perhaps on and around the talons and perch. Man, I'm in bed by 9PM, this would be tough for me to do!!

    Thanks Daniel, I agree. I’m not sure why that is, whether processing or flash settings. This image was taken around 9:45, worth it huh ;)

    If only people knew what was involved in getting a shot like this. Great pose, perch and eye contact. Flash work looks fine to me as well. On the 5k imac the facial disc could you just a touch more sharpening. It was worth flying 6 hours, hiking up canyons, driving for hours up steep and dusty roads all for the thrill of seeing and hearing this bird.

    Very Nice Image. I do wish to see them in the field some day.

    I agree with the Flash look.
