Captured this Orchard Oriole (F) just as the sun was setting yesterday in a local wildlife preserve. I did see a male, but only for a split second as he flew by and landed out of range. C&C welcome.

Geoffrey, nice details and composition on this image. If I were in that situation, I would aim for either a full silhouette or move around the bird so it's fully in better light. It is tough lighting as presented for sure. Thanks for sharing.

This is not an easy species to photograph in our area Geoff so hats off for getting one low and in the open. Details look nice and I like the color palette with the blues and purples. I'm not a fan of the clumps of dead leaves and wish it was on a less overpowering perch.

Nice capture, Geoffrey. I rather like the side lighting, especially with the bird's head turned toward the light. And the dark BG. I don't mind a few dead leaves, although perhaps a few more than ideal here. Is there a sign of some cloning to the left of the bird's breast?

What a great looking bird and you captured it well. Lovely pose and detail on the bird and I like how the head is in the light. I'm not keen on the dried out leaves, but it does make for a natural looking image,

The look back pose makes this one. I don't mind the cluttered background here.
