Default Swallow-tail Kite taking a drink

The Swallow-tail Kites are gathering around Florida preparing for their migration back to Brazil they will spend three to four weeks preparing for the trip before they head South. At this location they often skim the river getting a drink as they head off to hunt for the day. It is a amazing site seeing hundreds of Kites in the air riding the thermals ever higher after they skim the surface of the river.

Very nice. Love the action you have captured here. Bird really stands out against that dark water.

Interesting behavioural shot....I agree with John that the bird stands out nicely from the dark water and whites are nicely controlled. I would probably prefer a slightly tighter crop as all the ripples in the water detract somewhat from the subject so less of them in the frame would improve it.
