I found this image that I had already processed from my trip to Cape Town at the end of last year, but haven't posted it to date. I always enjoyed visiting the Penquin Colony at Boulders Beach, as its a subject I only see and photograph when I am in Cape Town. This guy has just come out the water and was flapping his fins. Taken late afternoon.

Fun image Stu. And I love that beach. Amazing spot and so convenient that it is right off of the road and so close to so much activity. The huge Cape Gannet colony just offshore is a major plus as well. I like that you have captured a moment that shows these birds personality. Being super picky, I do wish the wave was not breaking right in line with the head.
Molting is right!! Cool pose and nice details Stu. Well done

Hi Stu - A really bad hair day! What a fun image and captured well. Nice detail. I like the raised foot, outstretched flippers and the shadow. Good timing so the edge of the surf in the bg is not intersecting the penguin too.
