This was taken at Fort Myers Beach, close to Little Estero Lagoon. Early morning light.

Small crop, basically to straighten the horizon. NIK Tonal contrast and detail extractor applied selectively to the bird. Boosted saturation.

    Thanks for looking!

The small-in-frame treatment works well for this Juan and takes good advantage of the clean, simple setting. Good tonal range across the bird and the rest of the frame. Harder to comment on detail at this relatively small size. Good use of the rule of thirds in your composition which works well to my eye.

I also like the way the bird is small in the frame - it gives a sense of vulnerability to the chick.
Getting the chick profiled with the feet on the edge of sand was a real bonus.

Sweet post. They are so small and cute. Looks like a baby Wison's Plover but I've never seen one before. I like the sand and water color. Looks good small in the frame as well. I feel you have a little too much dead space below and would try a 16:9 crop for this.

Small in the frame works well here. Nice low angle and the blue water background is great.

Isaac, thanks for your comment. I tried your crop suggestion. Looks good!

Looks much better as 16:9. And Wilson's Plover it is!
