Not your typical warbler image, but I loved how it was nestled in the spruce branches. It really emphasizes the bold black-and-white plumage.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/200s., f/4, ISO 1600, natural light, small crop for comp (about 80% FF), darkened some highlights in the BG, and lightened some darks as well. Usual eye work.

Hi Dan, this works very well, the B&W bird really pops amidst the green foliage. Well composed and good details on the subject. TFS.

    I really like this.
The black and white bird really pops against that blurred BG.
I love the look of the pine needles in the BG. Like a starburst.
    Very well seen. Good comp.

This works very well. The bird does really pop out against all that green. Detail on the bird looks great.

As mentioned, the bird really stands out. The BW with the green words very well. The pine needles give a lot of great texture too. Eye looks great as usual. TFS

    Hi Dan.

Beautiful, strong image that ticks the Occam's Razor box for me... :-)

I really like this one also...love the transitions of OOF to somewhat IF foliage and the framing it provides the warbler. Also the way that bird just pops out due to the contrasting colours.
