A male lion puts his powerful muscles to good use & lifts the WB to drag it to a secure place to have a meal. It was amazing to see the lion exert the front limbs & head muscles to lift it by its neck & drag it.
Maybe the title should be "Deadly Embrace"!?

Hi Sanjeev -- What a sight ! You have handled the strong light quite well and nice techs as well. The tight framing works for me and the colours look fine as well. Must be some sight to witness, these lions are very powerful creatures.

    Liked the caption as well

I am not sure whether this image qualifies for this months theme, as the wildebeest appears dead to me.

    TFS !

Thanks Haseeb, yes the WB was dead by this time, I am not sure of the theme too :-) I leave it to the mods. It was thrilling to watch it all happen and we were in the best position to photograph amid a dozen other vehicles.

Hi Sanjeev - I removed the theme prefix. I specified somewhere that both species must be alive. Animals and their kills are eligible when the monthly theme is predators. You handled the light here much better. I don't mind the tight framing but would still prefer a bit more room above. I'm sure Gabriela would love it if you posted a story sequence from this sighting.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Sounds like a great encounter. You handled the harsh light very well. The lion's face has a neat look to it.

Just a fantastic scene to witness Sanjeev, well done, good detail, right down to the tick on the male's ear. Agree on some more room above & below if you have it?

    TFS
