    Default Impala Portrait

Taken in the area of the Kwetsani camp in Botswana in February. Full height, cropped width. I'm not usually fond of squarish comps, and this did have some more nice grassland to the right, but at 3:2 it felt like a lot of empty space on the right, so I've cropped 5:4

Hi Bill - Beautiful detail in the coat. Techs and sharpness look good. I tend to like negative space so would probably add a little more back to the right. I might have zoomed out in the field to give a little more room above too (but easy to say in hindsight). I like the yellow flowers in the bg too. They add a little something extra.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Nice portrait of this impala. Love those antlers. Great background. I don't mind the square crop.

A very pleasing portrait Bill with nice soft light and clean BG. Great look at those horns. TFS.

    Hello Bill,

Lovely colours and tonality and beautiful detail in the coat as well as horns of the subject.

Nice techs too, BG is superb, good sharpness. I like this as presented, including composition - wonderful work, thank you so much for sharing!

    Kind regards,
