Big Warm Welcome to BPN Curly !!!!

Good looking bird, excellent pose & head angle, might lighten the area around the eye/beak just a tad and might crop some form the top I like the clean bg and perch a lot !!! Excellent looking forward to many more !!!!

Welcome to BPN, Curly! Great find and perch. If you have you could add more canvas at the bottom and crop a bit off the left. Keep them coming!

Welcome Dennis!!! Very attractive image and with good color and detail as well as a very pleasing pose. I agree with the above suggestions on the cropping. Look forward to seeing more of your posts.

A very pleasing image of this rare bird, Dennis. I would agree with the above suggestions. If it was mine, I would clone out the the lower of the 2 catchlights in the eye. Also, I notice a number of small dust spots in the background that could easily be removed. Keep them coming.

What a lovely bird and image, Dennis. The singing pose is really nice, but do agree that the optimum position might be with a little more room for the tail...would probably give the added benefit of a bit more habitat in the image (so critical for this particular species and it's future). With that in mind, you might specifically seek out some images in the future that show off the Kirtland's emersed in their jack pine habitat. Great to have you here at BPN!

Ah, a North American "holy grail" bird! And it looks like you have it in its favourite tree- jack Pine! This is a great rendition of the bird (although never seen it). The crop is a little tight on the bottom but maybe that's all you had. The area around the eye is a bit dark and if one of the catchlights is from the flash and the other from the sun, I would remove the flash one.

Thanks everybody for your great and thoughtful input. That is all I had as it was a fast snap shot and I had to use the 400 as I could not swing fast enough with my 600 or find it in the view finder. Thanks everybody it is really appreciated.

Here is a Kirtland in the jackpine.
