Default Great Blue Heron - Semi-arid Climate

I made this image in Bear River Migratory Refuge Yesterday.

This image represents the current conditions in the Refuge with very low water levels.

I do wish I could get a little bit more off center from composition perspective. I was in car and as soon I get out from the car to get lower perspective, he took off.

    Nikon D500, 500mm f/4 + 1.4x TCIII
    ISO 800, f/5.6, 1/4000 sec
    Manual Mode, Matrix Metering

Post Processing:- C1P, Affinity Photo, Nik Filter and Neat Image.

I did remove couple of wires which were running parallel in the image.

    Little bit of Cropping.

    Hope you like it.

    Thanks for watching.

    Thanks
    Krishna

The composition is not too bad, perhaps just a bit lower in the frame. I see you did try to go for a lower angle, the thought was good. In a way this higher perspective lets us see the dry ground, which I suspect is normally under water?

Krishna, it looks like the image is lacking fine detail. Maybe heat shimmer killed the IQ? Good exposure, cool pose. I agree with Daniel's comments re composition.

Cars work very well as blinds. The pose on the bird is nice. Don't usually see them on bare ground mostly in water.

Yes Usually This is should be completely filled with water. Some how this year, the management choose to complete cut off the water supply. I think that was due to invasive fish species.

For me the Image looks ok in terms of detail. The subject was very far off and this was a crop.
