    Hi all,

Another puffin (hope folks aren't sick of them) from the Farne Islands. Light NR, cropped about 20% off the frame, sharpened. BG is the water on an overcast day.

    Camera: Nikon D500
    Lens: 300 f/4 PF
    Specs: 1/4000 ISO 1600 f/4

Thanks for looking and commenting on prior posts!

Nice flight pose, and great to get the fish in the bill. I like the green in the BG, kind of holds down the image.

Very Nice patch of Green and the open wing position. I would love to visit UK once and photograph these birds once.

    Thanks for sharing.

Good 'incoming' pose Alex. Looks like the bird was getting quite close to the ground as I can see the green grass creating a green tinge on the underside of the bird. Good sharpness but the shoulders look a touch hot and lacking detail. Might be worth some recovery effort there, if feasible. I've never seen one in real life so can't comment on colour or tone. Composition works for me but I could also imagine a tighter composition too.

Beautiful shot, Alex! Love the extended wings, almost if it's not sure it's going to make a safe landing! This is one of the bird species that I would love to photograph!

    Everything spot-on technically.

Great incoming flight pose! From what I've heard these are tough and fast to get, so well done. Artistically I'd be tempted to try a version with the green band below blurred more, but certainly fine as is too.

Love the flight pose here. Nice you can see the eyes of the prey. Details look good.

Thanks all -- much appreciated. I'll look at that shoulder as well as a tighter comp. Thanks again,
