From last years trip to Newfoundland, Elliston. Good place for puffins from shore, it is a reach since all will be 600 2X for a full frame but lot of action .... if there is no fog !!! Can't wait to get back at them again !!!!

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

This is very cool! Great pose, exposure control and a nice BG, too. I'm glad you had a great camera at your disposal. :)

Al, Nice capture of that very important landing moment! Geat BG having some texture adds depth. But you know all that! Bob

Looks like he dropping down from nowhere. Love the wing spread and the dangling feet. Nice White exposure on the belly side.

What a great pose. Love the hanging in the air feel. Nicely colored as well.

I like this a lot, Alfred. Great pose, very sharp, good detail in the whites and blacks, and a very nice background. I hope to see these birds myself someday. :)

Perfect amount of wing blur. I find that without it, birds hanging in the air without a hint of motion look kind of odd.

    Hey Al,

Not bad, it was certainly fun.

The puffins images we are shooting here in Iceland are amazing. Hope to see you in '08.;)

    Dang Al,
    600mm and a 2X sweet!
The sharpness and exposure are outstanding.

And while I like the image the way it is, I am offering a different crop.
    Just food for thought.

    James
