Or Lilac-breasted Roller. Last from me, anyway, until I can return to Botswana. I found the perch interesting, although it does somewhat overwhelm the bird. I hoped that the brilliant colors of the LBR might compensate. HH, shot from vehicle; cropped from horizontal.

For me Bill, you kept the best one till last. Lovely detail, pose and HA. I also like this perch. Nice BG which shows the lovely colours on the bird real good. I would brighten the whole image up a wee bit.

Love the color on these birds. The dark background really makes the bird stand out here.

Hi Bill, excellent angled pose with a perfect HA. You have nailed the colours spot on, and Im fine with the perch, as there are no small perches in Africa. I feel the overall exposure is fine.

You saved the best for last!
The dark BG really makes the bird pop.
I agree with you that the perch is a bit big but that is certainly not a deal breaker. The perch has interesting lines and texture so all OK.

Excellent capture, Bill. Colors pop beautifully against the dark green BG. Great alert pose.

Hey Bill this is a strong image of LB Roller. Nice background, details and pose. For me the image is about a third of a stop too dark. Increasing the exposure and bringing up the colors of the bird a tiny bit more will really make this image even stronger.

Looks great Bill, and I also like the vertical composition with a beautiful BG. The small white spot on the web does pull my eye, so you may opt to remove it (while keeping the web).
