I don't believe I've yet posted this one from Botswana. Our guide feigned surprise when we came across this magnificent guy in a tree in the vicinity of the Duma Tau camp, and then spotted his mate in a nearby tree. I suspect he knew all along that they might be found there, but we were thrilled to see the pair. One of the many species on my target list for the trip.

Cool looking owl. I like environmental shots like this shows where the owl lives. The composition is nice.

I love owls, and this is no exception. Tough conditions, perch, and background, but we take what we can get with a species like this. You did well here.

Bill, I like the framing created by the branch mirroring the pose of the owl. In spite of the fairly messy environment, this comes together fairly well as you've managed to avoid most obstructions - not always easy in these situations. The most distracting thing for me is the 'cap' on the owl created by the vegetation behind its head. Glad you managed to see and photograph it, and share it here.

What a cool looking owl, nicely framed here. I would have been thrilled as well to find this owl, TFS Bill.

Nicely captured, Bill. I especially like the quality of colors and branch/perch complimenting the feathers. Got to hand it to our guide for the quick navigating of the vehicle to keep up with them.
