Taken from the raptor blind in South Texas, another territorial "chase" from a mockingbird. It was my observation that the Harris hawks were not harassed much by the mockingbirds compared to the caracaras, regardless, the diving, grabbing a tail feather, or pouncing on the tail went fairly unnoticed throughout the entire morning.

Ann - I love the action you captured here. The hawk seems so nonchalant... its pretty comical. I like the compositional balance between the perch and both subjects, and the hawk has got some beautiful color on him. If it were mine, I may have tried to lighten the hawks eye just a bit. Awesome shot!
Wow - Killer image. The IQ is over the top with great timing, tack focus and detail. I love the pose of Mockingbird in full harass mode. The whites at the top of the tail feathers look hot on my monitor.
Wonderful shot, Ann. With his head turn, great talons and beautiful colors, this would be a very nice Harris's Hawk image all by itself. But that Mockingbird, with his feet-forward pose, puts it over the top. Great techs, a few hot spots noted.
