    Default Kestrel Falcon

I went out with a group of people a few months back and the leaders of the group were catching and banding some hawks. They caught this little guy too and showed him off to us. I took advantage of the situation and snapped a few pictures. This was one of them.
    Thanks for looking.

Nice portrait and head angle. I would put the bird further to the right in the frame and sharpen some more. The dark BG on the left is a bit distracting.

    Hello,

This image would be a little sharper and I would also remove some of the noise. I also have to agree with Axel.

    Keep them coming!

    Hi Sharna!

Lovely portrait with high quality. While your repost is incorporating the improvement suggestions offered by Axel and Maxis ... I think it lost some of the fine feather/hair details around the neck and beak that was in the original. Additionally, the repost seems to emphasize the merge of the beak and the neck.

A small step, if possible to your right would probably yield a better separation of the beak, along with adding a bit more depth.

I hope you do not mind that I reposted your image along with some small changes ... and interested in your opinion.

I worked on reducing the background noise, I extended the left canvas, I lightened the dark left area, I toned down the bright area on the right, I worked on the eye, I tried to work on some separation with the bird and the fine details, and I applied a little more sharpening to the head/eye (maybe a little too much?).

I think you did a wonderful job here. Yes...I saw the detail missing with the repost and was not happy about it at all. Your post is excellent. Thank you for that. My photoshop skills aren't that great, I know just enough to get me in trouble. LOL
    Thanks for the help.

The repost looks much better, it just needs more sharpening.
