    Hi all,

A black skimmer taken soon after sunrise at the Jersey Shore. I'm hoping to get more shots of these guys this summer. Cloned a couple dust spots and a second catchlight. Sharpened, light crop.

    Camera: Nikon D500
    Lens: 300 f/4 PF + 1.4 TC
    Specs: 1/4000 ISO 640 f/5.6

Thanks for looking and commenting on prior posts!

    This is excellent Alex.
Love the water "wall" trail and the low POV and how sharp it is.
    The exposure is perfect.
Open bill and trailing feet all top-notch.
My only wish would be for a more appealing wings up position but still terrific as is,
    Gail

Hi Alex, well timed and executed image, doesn't get much better. Just watch the blue creeping in on the rear wing.

Yes we will hook up as I said, but as you know it's weather and sailing that is the issue, but plenty of time to plan, all the best.

Love the water splashing and the low angle. Nice how the water blends right to the background.

Hi Alex, love the bill in the water, raised feet, splashing water. Exposure and detail look good. Wing position is a little different but maybe because the bird was turning. Thank you for sharing.

Good one, Alex. Great close up skimming action, with good water trail and dangling feet. Ditto Gail's assessment.

Oh boy this is so cool! I agree that a higher wing position would have been great, but not always available, and I certainly would not hate having this in my files. Fine stuff!
