Like this, John. At first I thought it was snowing. Must have been the contrast of the water droplets on his black feathers. Nice and sharp where it needs to be, and a good SS to elongate the falling rain. Nice delicate perch, and good look back pose. Excellent BG.

This is very nice, John. I don't like the OOF twig that sticks up between the bird's legs, and I wonder if it would be better if the bird were a bit lower in the frame. I love the falling rain and the droplets on the bird.

Great image. The detail in the blacks is nice to see, and the raindrops are a bonus.

I do like these 'weather' shots. The bird looks suitably unimpressed by the weather. Just the right amount of motion blur on the raindrops here. Well handled exposure and processing to bring out good detail on the bird. That OOF twig in front of the bird is unfortunate but it is what it is.

Hi John, the choice of a slower SS has helped here to retain the rain, likewise any more DoF would just loose them. The rain has in part reduced/blurred some detail in the subject, but the head is clear which is nice. The black colour of the subject has worked well and is separated nicely against the pastel/muted colour of the background. The OOF central twig is distracting and can easily be removed if your ethics allow.

Love the perch and the rain, especially the drops on the back. I do with that one stick wasn't blocking the foot / body, but nothing to do about that. Nice BG too. TFS

Like everything about this except that pesky OOF twig in front of the bird.
The rain and gorgeous BG really make for a nice image,
    Gail
