    Default Another... Atlantic Puffin

    Attached Images Attached Images

Just starting to look at some of the images taken with Jon A last Monday at the Farnes. A bit rushed because of the predicted swell that didn't happen, but still a reasonably 'fruitful' trip and a good craic with the young man. Sorry not to have managed to hook up with Alex B too.

Just quite liked this solitary bird preening against the yellow rock backdrop, clean & simple. The dark plumage does vary and I not down to lightening anything.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Good preening pose here. Beautiful BG, and I like the rich blacks. Well-balanced comp as too.

Really like the pose here. Good details in the blacks and whites. Great background.

    Thanks guys.

Good details in the blacks and whites.
John I hope this illustrates what I have been banging on about and you too now are reaping the rewards it seems too. Cranking up Contrast, Levels, Blacks unless you know what it does and the issues it can bring in some Raw convertors can bite you in the butt. Looking good on screen is only part of it and if this is the only outlet fine, but I am also interested in how does it print and does it pass all the QC's?

Nice pose and background, and very vibrant yet realistic colors all around. Well done.

Love the pose and BG. And nice detail throughout with good DOF. They are such fun birds. Glad it was a good trip for you guys as well, hopefully can link up if I'm there next year again. TFS
