Wow, these are crazy Bill! Not something you ever see in my neck of the woods. With the first (hippo under water), I'd take a look at raising the shadows just a bit. Maybe selectively 1-2% in PS. The second one however, I'm not seeing much room for improvement in PP. Although it might be just a little flat. I just feel like any fix would darken the shadows too much. I really like these. Glad I came back to BPN to see images like this.

Second image is an absolute killer, Bill. Glad to see there are still gems in your files from that trip. This one would go well on wildife forum too! Excellent dof as well from nose of hippo to the bird. Very well done. I agree the tones look a little thin and flat in this though (except for the bird which looks about right). Maybe some selective adjustments would lift this? Overall still a very impressive series.

Lovely shot Bill! I'd raise the saturation - or at least the reds - in the open-mouth shot just a tad to increase the colors. The other one is perfect!

Pretty neat. Like the second one better than the first. You can see more of the hippo.

This was a lot of fun to watch, but I don't think the hippo was thrilled being used as a perch. Great captures of what I thought was the Hamerkop just playing with the hippo. The Hamerkop, even after the hippo shook him off, did try another landing on his back. Both fun captures.
