    Default Interested Enough?

    Hello Everyone,

Been searching through my old folders for the whole week, hoping to find some images I haven't posted yet - here is one

The scene was captured in the Kalahari near Kij Kij waterhole in 2014. It is a typical example of a lioness courting and flirting with her male, and despite the "concerned" look on her face she was actually relaxed and quite playful.

Kindly note the faint traces of blood on both, even though they were busy mating for a couple of days when opportunity came along they obviously took it I gather the victim was a springbok... but my assumption is based purely on the size of their bellies.

They both looked in great shape and it was such a pleasure to watch them interact, at some point they even roared together. I wish I recorded the sound, it was truly awesome...

    Nikon 300 F2.8
    ISO 1600
    F6.3
    1/2500s

Thank you all for viewing, and also for kind comments on my previous images, always appreciated.

Hi Gabriela, I think this is lovely, the two subjects are in the perfect position, likewise yourself, a great behavioural capture which is different to ones we often see. Perhaps a tad less SS, but the image hasn't suffered, so all good IMHO. The negative space also works, tighter on the LHS and more on the right, excellent as the space gives that 'walk into' feel. Although on the laptop hard tp say, but my feeling is you need just a bit more mid tone and structure back into certainly the Lioness.

Overall a very nice image I feel.

    Dearest Steve,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments, much appreciated!

I obviously cannot do anything about the techs... but here's an RP - let me know what you think, did I go too far?

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Pretty neat frame, like how they are just almost about to touch. The female looks quite healthy or well feed probably both.

What a lovely moment you've captured, Gabriela. I'm liking both posts, but am leaning towards the lighter op. Like your crop as well.

As I said I can't see anything wrong there.

I can't tell Gabriela I'm away, but I think were are going to have a 'crash' course on Curves and not Levels

Excellent pose Gabriella, regarding processing I think the repost is a tad too far. I think you have captured the moment dutifully and I love the surroundings.

A lovely moment captured. What fun to witness. For me, the RP does go too far; maybe half way in between?? I like the inclusion of the distant tree. That said, I could also imagine a pano version without it. Either way it's a great scene.

Many thanks Keith, Jon and Bill:)

I did go a bit too far with the RP but never got a chance to fix it. Really like this scene so I will process again

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
