    This shot was taken near Manglajodi, Odissa this winter.


    (Nikon D500, 500 F4 G ED VR)
    Exposure Time - 1/2500 seconds, F – 7.1, Exposure Program – Manual, ISO – 800, Metering - Spot
    White Balance – Sunny, Focus Mode - AF-C

    I like the image but something about the tone is a little off to me, or perhaps it's just because I've never seen this bird before. Also, if this is cropped, I'd leave a little more room behind the bird.

    Interesting looking Kite. I'm personally fine with the comp and crop. I wish for just a tad more sharpeness of the fine detail. The one thing that bothers me is the dark spot on our right of the bird's head, just above the base of the bill. It doesn't look like the bird's left eye but I can't figure it out.

    Something like this maybe? I'd give the raw another run through in LR/PS if I was you and not crop it so tight. I think you'll get some better detail out of it that way. I'm sure you can do a lot better than I did with the original file.

    I think it is not possible to salvage the image if it is too big a crop and especially if the RAW file is not sharp enough.
    Nice flight pose, I do like this banking angle.
